This webpage offers information on (swing) dancing that is somewhere north of Boston with the demarcation line somewhere between Route 128 and I-495. You can jump down to the northern MA calendar below. Some of the events/places mentioned here are technically outside Boston but they may also appear in the regular Boston listings or the other Massachusetts (upon my sole determination). If something that is outside Boston but still close to the city, you might want to check the page for dancing in Boston or the Boston Calendar

Dance Technics

The Lafayette Club, 11 High Street, Amesbury
Monthly dance party usually on the fourth Saturday of the month (check schedule below) featuring music for swing, Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, West Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Hustle, Ballroom, Argentine Tango, & club dancing. SeaSide Swing

Tequila Bar & Grill
80 Newbury Street (intersection of Route 1 South and Route 114), Danvers. 978-774-3300.
Tequila's hosts various dancing events, particularly Country Western, throughout the week.

Roller-World
425R Broadway (Route 1 southbound), Saugus. Ballroom dancing on Tuesdays and Saturdays with live music from 7:30 to 11:00 pm.

Rockafellas
Salem. Think "Johnny D's". Bar with a small dance floor in front of the band area. Not specifically a swing venue, but will occasionally feature bands who play at area swing dances.

Help!
Sometimes I'll see a favorite dance band play at a non-standard venue and I sometimes wonder if these venues are conducive for dancing, i.e., do they have a dance floor? Some of the venues and some of the bands aren't very helpful in providing that information, particularly if it discourages people from showing up. I don't get a chance to check out most of these venues so please help me provide better information to my readers by letting me know which venues are suitable for dancing. Thanks!
