The Soapbox Archives:
We had been putting some older dressers on CraigsList and not getting a nibble so we got tired of having these items in the garage and just wanted to get rid of them. We hauled them out of the garage and put them on the curb.
There was a older, probably mid-century Dixie set of drawers that might actually have some value to a collector.
The other items were a dresser with three drawers and a wooden bed set with a headboard, foot (?) board with wood railings.
We were hoping these items would find a good home; they had belonged to my wife's sister when she was living in Massachusetts.
What happened was that someone came along and took *two* of the three drawers from the second dresser. We had hoped that someone didn't have the room in their car and took the drawers so that no one else would take the dresser while they went to get a bigger vehicle. Then someone came along and took the headboards and left everything else.
Now I have a dresser and parts of a bed that I won't be able to unload. No one's going to want the remnants of the dresser and a bed. Not only did I not get rid of these items, no one's going to get the whole dresser that they could have used, AND now I have to figure out how to get rid of these items and that's just a lot more work. The people who took part of the dresser and bed just made my life a little harder. Thanks.
